Dublin, 22 April, 2009
Servecentric, the data centre managed services company, today announced that it has successfully completed a €1M managed hosting deal with a major international law firm. This is the first Irish data centre contract brokered by Partners National Mission Critical Facilities (PNMCF), a US company specialising in the site selection of mission critical facilities for its clients in 350 cities throughout North America and increasingly worldwide.
Its client, a top five US law firm with twenty-one locations and 1,300 employees throughout the world, required the services of a European data centre as a core building-block in its global IT and information security strategy. PNMCF sources facilities such as data centres, call centres, disaster recovery centres and operating centres around the globe. It performs due diligence on these facilities to ensure they meet the technical, geographic and demographic criteria of its clients. These clients include financial, insurance, telemarketing and other Fortune 500 companies.
Servecentric was selected based on its existing blue chip clients and its ability to guarantee the highest levels of information security. Servecentric was recently awarded the ISO 27001 information security management standard by Certification Europe, making it the only independent Irish data centre managed services company with this accreditation.
Kirk Killian, senior vice president, Partners National Mission Critical Facilities, said, “Ireland’s knowledge economy, skilled workforce and its standing as the gateway to Europe, is increasingly making it an attractive proposition for our clients. The data centre facilities in Ireland are among the best in the world, passing our most rigorous and exhaustive audits. In particular, Servecentric met the highest levels in terms of security, reliability and service, and its recent ISO 27001 was key to our recommendation.”
Aidan Donnelly, CEO at Servecentric commented, “This is an excellent endorsement of our people, facilities and service. Our new customer relationship is a good opportunity for Servecentric, opening the door to a host of multi-national professional service providers looking for European data centre space.”
Michael Brophy, CEO, Certification Europe, said, “The ISO 27001 information security standard is probably the strongest weapon in a data centre’s marketing arsenal. It’s a prerequisite for any company with sensitive information looking for outsourced data centre services. At present, Irish data centres are failing to recognise its importance which has put Servecentric, as a certified company, in a powerful position to win new business.”
