Power Infrastructure

The power system of the facility is built to the highest standards and, as a result of the engineering of this power system, the energy centre has been certified to resell electricity back into the National Grid.

The system has the capability of a full 10MVa load from the Electricity Supply Board (ESB). The requirement for such a large supply of power necessitated the construction of a dedicated ESB substation on-site. The transformers and switchgear to allow 10MVa of power is currently installed in the substation which is maintained by ESB.

The system is designed with an N+1 philosophy for the generator and UPS systems. The UPS battery banks are A+B (in effect, N+N), thus giving full redundancy. Servecentric provide a 99.999% guarantee on power.

Fully redundant A and B feeds are delivered to each cabinet from separate distribution panels, which are in turn fed by separate UPS systems and backed up by separate generators.
